Install Forest Studio Edu
This guide explains how to get the Forest Studio Edu desktop app running on Windows, macOS, or Linux.
1. Get the installer
Open the Polybox link where the installer files are located:
Forest Studio Edu polybox (if you are a student from LLFMP25 course you should have received the password to this folder).
2. Download by operating system
macOS
- Download the file
foreststudio-1.0.13-arm64if needed extract the downloaded .zip. - Double-click the
.pkgfile to start the installation. - You will get a warning that the Apple could not verify
foreststudio-1.0.13-arm64, click “Done” - To unblock the installer, open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Security, and click “Open Anyway.” where it indicates that Forest Studio was blocked OR copy this command in the terminal app xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /WRITE HERE THE PATH TO YOUR PKG FOLDER/foreststudio-1.0.13-arm64.pkg and press enter.
- Double-click the again
.pkgfile to start the installation. Follow the installation steps in the wizard. The app will be installed automatically into your Applications folder. - Once installed, open Forest Studio from your Applications folder.
Apple Silicon vs Intel
The current version only work for appel Silicon
Windows
- Download the file
foreststudio-win-xg4.zipif needed extract the downloaded .zip. - Double-click the downloaded and unzziped file to launch the installation wizard.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
The installer will create a shortcut in your Start Menu and optionally on your Desktop. - If Windows shows a warning saying the app is from an unknown publisher:
- Click More info, then
- Click Run anyway.
- Click More info, then
- Once installation completes, open Forest Studio from the Start Menu.
First-launch warning
Windows may display a security message during the first launch because the app is not yet signed.
This is normal and safe to ignore.
Click More info → Run anyway.
Linux
Currently we do not have a working linux version, please contact us if you need one.
3. First-launch check
You should land on the Dashboard.
